A highly professional forum that brings together specialists from various regions of the Russian Federation and foreign countries

25-28 June 2019 in Peter the Great ST. Petersburg Polytechnic University (SPbPU) hosted an international scientific conference “advanced materials and advanced manufacturing technology”. The conference presented the results of work on a wide range of topics that reflect current trends in the development of science of materials and technological processes of advanced production.

Representatives were attend of more than 40 organizations in the conference – members of RAS, employees of research centers, universities and industrial enterprises. The event presented the results of more than 150 works on eight thematic sections:

1. Nanocrystalline and nanostructured metal materials.

2. Modern technological processes of metal materials processing.

3. Nanostructured powders, composite ceramic materials and coatings.

4. Biomaterials, new materials for medical purposes. 3D printing of biomaterials.

5. Additive manufacturing.

6. Modeling of physical and mechanical properties of materials and technological processes of their production. Digital doubles of materials, designs, production technologies.

7. Materials with special optical, electrical and magnetic properties. Smart materials and technologies.

8. Development status and application technology of new energy battery materials.

General Director of ENV, graduate of SPbPU Professor Wang Qingsheng, CHN-RUS NEMTRI was a participant of a number of planned events during the conference: international youthful school “Perspective materials and technologies: from invention to implementation”; round table discussion “Advanced production technologies: experience and prospects”.

A large-scale event was held on June 26, dedicated to the International youthful school “Promising materials and technologies: from invention to implementation”. There are 35 students of Xi’An University of Technology, and Technische University Bergakademie Freiberg (TUBF), The National University of Science and Technology “MISiS” (NUST MISIS), St. Petersburg state University and Peter the Great ST. Petersburg Polytechnic University (SPbPU), which took part in this year. The result of the International youthful school was the awarding of the winners of poster presentations.

On June 27, more than 120 heads of leading industrial enterprises and state corporations of Russia, representatives of the Russian Academy of Sciences and foreign universities were gathered at the academic report round table “Application of Advanced Materials Technology” and “Advances in Additive Technology”

During the round table discussion, experts analyzed the current situation in engineering, automation and digital production, discussed the possibilities of cooperation in scientific and technological projects and shared their experience in the implementation of joint educational programs.

At this meeting, the head of the “Solid hive Porous Lithium Ion Power Battery” Industrialization Base (General Manager of ENV), Professor Wang Qingsheng, General Director of the China-Russia New Energy Materials Technology Research Institute, （CHN-RUS NEMTRI） introduced the high-Ni NCM-Ternary material. Performance improvement, Scientific achievements in the application of advanced technologies such as material modification, composite separators, solid electrolytes, and porous electrode preparation in modern industries.

The experts shared their experience in the development and application of advanced production technologies.
